April 10, 2017

Hey guys! Sorry I didnt give much time into my mass email last week. My iPad was all screwy, but I think it is fixed now.

So last P day, we played a lot of sports with most of the zone. I found out that a sister in my district, Sister Ashman, her mom served with my dad in London. Sister Ashman even met my dad a few years ago.

Tuesday morning, we texted a less active named Bryan H. We asked if we could come over sometime that day to visit. He then called us and told us that he was going in for surgery in a couple minutes. He asked us to come over and give him a blessing. So we went over and did that, and at the end he and his mom were in tears. It gave both of them a lot of peace. The surgery went well. He tore his labrum, so he had to get surgery on his hip to fix that. We visited him again later that night to help him get up the stairs into his apartment. We also went to the library and did service there. We go once or twice a week there to help out in many different ways.

Wednesday, it rained a ton. We got a couple new rules. On P days, we now cant leave our area unless we have special permission and unless it is zone P day. We also have to wear high visibility jackets while riding bikes after 4pm.

Thursday was a very crazy day. We did a lot of service at the library. We set up for a book sale. Then we helped the Brennans move around a highchair and bring their computer to Best Buy. Their daughter is in the Massaponax ward. Then at around 3:00 during a lesson, there was a massive hail storm! It was so crazy! They were pretty big and it just came out of nowhere. Later, when we biked home, there was a knock at there door. So we went over and there was like a 14 year old kid there. He said that he saw us riding our bikes and he said he wanted to trade bikes with us. we were both like lol no. But we had a couple extra bikes downstairs in the back. So we brought him around back to look at the bikes. He chose one, but we made a deal with him that we would give it to him if he listens to a lesson. He agreed to that, so he just walked in and sat down on one of our couches and said teach me. So we did. He had a lot of questions. He said he could feel that there was something different about our apartment. Later, we had to teach a Bible study class. We didn't want to ride our bikes because we would have to ride through a ton of mud puddles. So we decided to take a short cut through the woods. Bad idea. But it was fun. I fell into some mud and we had to jump across some rocks to get across a river. When we came out of the trees at the church, a car drove past us and parked in the parking lot. Then Brandon W from the Massaponax ward stepped out of the car! I got to talk to him for a little bit before we had to go in to teach Bible study.

On Friday, Elder Griffin was sick, so the zone leaders that live with us took turns going around with me seeing people. We also had zone meeting.

On Saturday, he was still sick. Went over to the Gs and visited them. Earlier in the week, I forgot when, we gave a blessing to their 7 year old kid who was going in for surgery on his leg. So when we stopped back by, we were just checking in to see how it went. It went extremely well and he walked out of the hospital the same day. He is a super tough kid.

Not much happened yesterday. A ton of appointments fell through. So that was my week. Love and miss y'all!
